Fact Check: FDA Did NOT Confirm Pfizer's COVID Vaccine Contains Graphene Oxide Not Containing

Did the U.S. Food and Drug Administration confirm that graphene oxide is in "fake COVID" mRNA vaccines after being forced to disclose confidential Pfizer documents under a U.S. federal court order? No, that's not true: Graphene oxide is not among the ingredients in the COVID vaccine. The FDA did not confirm graphene oxide is one of the ingredients, saying in a statement: "Graphene oxide is included in a sentence on page 7 to describe, in part, the lab procedure pertaining to the study of the structural characterization of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein using a specific type of microscope. Graphene oxide is a material to aid in protein imaging." Lead Stories has previously reported that the document section where this misinformation originated describes a procedure for analyzing a protein sample from the virus under a sophisticated microscope that includes the use of graphene oxide to help with imaging.

The claim appeared in a video (archived here) on TikTok by @blokrea on July 24, 2023. It began (translated from Czech to English by Lead Stories staff):

Some people have been bugged MULTIPLE times. 65% of the population is vaccinated in the Czech Republic.

One of the most recent documents published by the FDA, filed as 125742_S1_M4_4.2.1 vr vtr 10741.pdf, confirms the use of graphene oxide in the manufacturing process of Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine

Graphene oxide is the oxidized form of graphene. "Reduced graphene oxide can be used in electronic devices, energy storage devices, (bio)sensors, biomedical applications, supercapacitors, membranes, catalysts, and water purification." In medicine, it can be used as a drug delivery agent.

There has been research on potentially using graphene oxide in other vaccines, but the amounts would not be toxic to human cells.

At the time of writing, 64,4% of all people and 68% of people above the age of five were completely vaccinated in the Czech Republic (6 893 218), and 65,2% of all people and 68,8% of people above the age of five received at least one dose (6 976 651).
