Fact Check: Czech People Were NOT Booing Zelenskyy and Petr Pavel At Prague Castle Fake Audio

Did Czech boo Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Czech President Petr Pavel at Prague Castle during Zelenskyy's visit on July 6, 2023? No, that's not true: The audio in the video was added after the real video was posted. In the original video, which is a live broadcast of CNN Prima News, the castle's band can be heard playing. The leaders were greeted by castle guards and the national anthems of both countries were played. There were also hundreds of supporters with Ukrainian and Czech flags.

The claim originated in a video by @pepekarna on TikTok on July 10, 2023, (archived here) under the title, in Czech: "Češi na Pražském hradě vypískali Zelenského a Pavla." Translated into English by Lead Stories staff, it reads: "Czechs booed Zelenskyy and Pavel at Prague Castle" with the following description:

People in the courtyard of Prague Castle booed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy was in Prague last week for a visit, where he met with Prime Minister Petr Fiala and President Petr Pavel.

This is what the post looked like on TikTok at the time of writing:

After the welcome ceremony, the two statesmen listened to the Czech and Ukrainian anthems and went inside the Castle for a private meeting, where they discussed the current situation of the war in Ukraine and the NATO summit.

Zelenskyy came to Prague primarily to discuss the efforts of the Czechs in supporting his country since the beginning of the Russian aggression. He also met with Prime Minister Petr Fiala and the presidents of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies Miloš Vystrčil and Markéta Pekarova Adamová.
